Bridges on our national, provincial and municipal highways commonly have bolt-on metal parts. Such parts include hand railings, balustrades, parapet top rails and more, It is usually made of mild steel, cast steel or even stainless steel or aluminium. Because the bridges are often in isolated places and not guarded, the thieves find the parts easy to strip and sell as scrap metal.
Vanstone manufactures and supplies precast concrete replacement parts for metal parts. Obviously, the concrete parts have no scrap value and are left alone. Not only can Precast balusters, parapet rails or other parts be installed as part of remedial work but also from the outset on new bridges.
Bridges and their parts are not all the same and that makes it difficult to standardise. However, that is not an unsurmountable issue and we will develop and manufacture the parts to suit your project.
