Description
Segmental Valve Chambers are precast concrete rapid construction underground chambers. It serves as an efficient alternative to cast in situ chambers, which are tedious and expensive to build. Segmental Valve Chambers are commonly used for air valve chambers, scour valve chambers, isolation valve chambers and more. It is well accepted and specified by water authorities like the Rand Water Board.
Vanstone’s Segmental Valve Chambers are available in the standard sizes as shown below. This does not limit the range and other sizes can be manufactured to suit the application.
Technical Features
- Chamber segments are 500mm high and are easy to handle by a light crane or TLB-type construction machine.
- For Smaller chambers, see segment heights in table below.
- Segments have steps fitted (not the 600×600 size) and lifting holes on the outsides for easy hook-up. Horizontal joints are interlocking to ensure lateral stability.
- Water resistance may be improved by using sealer strips in the joints between the units.
- If required, units may be ordered flat-topped.
- Roof Slabs complete with manholes of your choice, air vents and other equipment are available.
