Description
Vanstone’s Square Grid Cover is a reinforced concrete grid for the standard SANRAL U-Channel. It is an improvement on the Median Grid Cover.
It has good load bearing capacity suitable for occasional heavy vehicle wheel loads travelling dead slow.
Concrete characteristic strength is 35MPa and reinforcing is hot dipped galvanized.
Size: 370mm wide x 135mm thick x 600mm (module) long. Need two per 1.2m U-Channel.
Test load (ultimate) across two ribs 150kN.
It is highly recommended that the Square Grid Cover is used instead of SANRAL’s Median grid, which has some practical draw-backs.
